Almost every wOᴍᴀɴ develops stretch marks at some point in her life, whether during puberty after experiencing a growth spurt or during pregnancy. Unfortunately, these red lines are not widely accepted in the media, so women are often encouraged to hide them and cover them up. Thankfully, celebrities like Chrissy Teigen are starting to go public with their Sᴛʀᴇᴛᴄʜ Mᴀʀᴋꜱ, which helps other women feel more comfortable in their bodies.
The most common time that women get Sᴛʀᴇᴛᴄʜ Mᴀʀᴋꜱ is when they are Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ. If you are expecting multiple children, you may have more severe “dilation” than those who have only had one. As your body grows to welcome new babies, your Sᴋɪɴ must stretch. A mother knows this all too well.
Hayley Garnett has just given birth to two beautiful baby Gɪʀʟs. Just a week after having them, she went online to share a photo of her bare belly. Hayley shared a picture of her Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ belly on Instagram, which immediately attracted a lot of attention. Within a week, the post had more than 11,000 likes.
Hayley wrote: “Happy one week birthday, ladies! This morning Archer asked me what’s wrong with my belly and I told him that all of my babies leave marks on my belly so that I never forget for a second that I grew them in my body all on my own and that they exist earthside with me now!
A forever reminder, whether I’m truly confident having these marks or not, it’s no doubt a testament to the Mɪʀᴀᴄʟᴇs my body has made.”
Hayley explained that when her tOᴅᴅler son, Archer, asked what was going on with the shape of her belly, she just knew what to say. Stretch marks are a great reminder of all the amazing things a wOᴍᴀɴ’s body can do. Of course, many women are self-conscious about their stretch marks, but it’s soᴍᴇᴛʜing we should all celebrate.
People who saw Hayley’s post really loved it, and it even changed some of their views about their own bodies. One wOᴍᴀɴ wrote: “I’ve been Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with twins for a few weeks, and I’m so upset about my stretch marks. This makes me feel so much better!”
Another wOᴍᴀɴ said: “This photo is breathtaking.”
“Absolutely beautiful,” wrote another. “I like this view because our bodies really are incredible.”
One mom said: “Thank you baby! My oldest child is 11 years old and I had a lot of Sᴛʀᴇᴛᴄʜ Mᴀʀᴋꜱ when I was Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with them. I found myself hating them but then thought again why I have them. I wouldn’t ʜɪᴛ them. exchange any of my children for a Thing.”
Finally, another mom wrote: “They’re so adorable! I have 3 kids and each time I get a few extra Sᴛʀᴇᴛᴄʜ Mᴀʀᴋꜱ. I wouldn’t change a thing. Those are my badges of honor. “.
