These are the five precious students whose lives were cruelly cut short in a freak jumping castle accident on Thursday.
Zane Mellor, Peter Dodt, Jye Sheehan, Jalailah Jayne-Maree Jones, all age 12, and their class mate Addison Stewart, 11, tragically lost their lives when a jumping castle flew 10 metres into the air during a ‘mini tornado’ at Hillcrest primary School in Devonport, Tasmania.
Tasmania Police released the names and photos of each child as the nation rallied around their distraught families and community.
A fundraiser created by a local woman to help the victims’ familied reached more than $700,000 within the first 24 hours.
Three more children are fighting for life at Royal Hobart hospital, and one was released and will continue to recover at home.
